About Us
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family and ministry. We are Andy and Christy Streit, missionaries assisting the Peruvian church in making disciples of Jesus Christ. I (Andy) was born in California in 1977. Christy was born in 1974 in Indiana. We grew up in Southeast Indiana near Cincinnati, Ohio. Christy and I were both saved as a result of church camp ministries in 1988 and 1992 respectively.
Christy and I met through our home church and got to know each other on a short-term mission trip in 1997. The following year we were married in August. We have seven children, four boys (Nicolas, Jacob, Zechariah, and Gabriel) and three girls (Felicity, Fawn, and Charlotte).
After high school, I went to a state university pursuing a teaching degree. That summer, I served in the youth department at my home church. While chaperoning teen camp I surrendered to full-time ministry. I transferred to bible college where I completed a degree in Christian Ministries in 2001. I then attended Seminary where I completed a Masters degree in Christian Education in 2006. During my last year of seminary, I was called to be the Senior Pastor at New Testament Baptist Church (NTBC) in Sunman, Indiana where I served for eighteen years. During my time at NTBC I taught classes at the local Bible College and worked in management at several companies including the AiG Creation Museum.
After high school, Christy attended Bible College and worked at church camp during the summers. She also took some short-term missions trips during these years. After we married and started a family, Christy has been fully engaged ministering to our family and supporting my pastoral ministry.
In 2021, God began to redirect my calling from pastoral ministry to missions. As my awareness grew of the needs for pastoral instruction and mentorship worldwide, God directed my desires to go and teach all nations (Mathew 28:19-20). In 2022, I stepped down from the pastorate, enrolled in a Dmin degree, and joined Baptist Mid-Missions. We will serve in South America in Peru.
